Your day begins with an approximately 15-minute drive from San Ignacio to the Belize–Guatemala western border.

After completing border formalities, sit back and enjoy an approximately 1.5-hour scenic drive through the Guatemalan countryside to Tikal National Park.

Because this is a private tour, the experience is reserved for you and your party, allowing for a more personal and relaxed exploration of this remarkable ancient city.

Upon arrival, your professional guide will lead you through Tikal's impressive temples, plazas, palaces, and ceremonial areas while sharing the history, culture, architecture, and achievements of the ancient Maya.

One of Tikal's most impressive monuments is Temple IV, which rises more than 200 feet above the forest floor and is among the tallest structures at the site.

Tikal is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, so your archaeological adventure also provides opportunities to experience Guatemala's incredible natural environment. Keep your eyes open for howler monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, parrots, and other tropical wildlife along the way.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, but hearing the sounds of the rainforest while exploring ancient Maya temples is all part of the Tikal experience.

After exploring the archaeological site, relax and enjoy a freshly prepared authentic lunch at a restaurant near Tikal National Park.

Following lunch, we'll begin our journey back through Guatemala, cross the border into Belize, and return to San Ignacio.
